Our choices are spread across 12 categories, and you can consider this the best of the best. No doubt about it, plugins sit at the very heart of the software-based studio, and in this round-up, we’ll reveal - in our opinion - the finest virtual instruments and effects money can currently buy.
REAPER VS CUBASE PRO
Ultimately, your choice of DAW will determine which format(s) you can use - for example, Cubase only supports VST, Logic Pro only works with Audio Units, and Ableton Live plays ball with both (on Mac). RE: Sloghtly OT: Sonar vs Cubase vs Reaper - A small Test 4 04:08:11 Hi All- I downloaded Reaper to check it out, and for the first time since I installed XP SP3 I had the 'Ultralite spitting on all outputs' problem I reported here a while ago. These days, most virtual instruments and effects are released in VST, AU and AAX formats, with a few still arriving in the ageing RTAS, but the differences between the standards are minor and partly DAW-dependent, so a given instrument or effect will always sound exactly the same - and, largely, operate identically too - no matter which version you use. We still feel like the MIDI implementation in Cubase is beyond any other product on the market. As we learned to use Cubase, we realized the flexibility between MIDI and audio was far more advanced than any other product on the market.

I have read accounts of people who think it's impossible to work in Reaper on film after Cubase. We chose Cubase in the beginning due to price differences between Pro Tools and Cubase. They throw me videos and I just chuck them in Reaper and work happily. Recently I saw some videos about this rather. Someone even made a template for orchestral composition here: Storyteller OTR But, basically you can create a tool like that for your special requirements with every Reaper. Whether you’re after a thoroughly convincing Minimoog or Roland TR-808, a Urei 1176 compressor or a granular sample mangling effect, there’ll be at least a handful of viable options out there to suit your creative needs and budget. Reaper is much more efficient though, and in general more stable. Answer (1 of 3): I cannot speak for Cubase. Each of the 40x sine wave tracks has 8 Insert Plugins, for a total of 320 plugins available. In the questionWhat are the best DAWs Reaper is ranked 2nd.

DAWBench contains 4x instrument tracks, 40x tracks of sine waves, and 1x track to monitor the sine wave tracks. When comparing Cubase 10.5 vs Reaper, the Slant community recommends Reaper for most people.
